how to keep clay from hardening?

How does one keep clay from hardidng in between uses??

spray it with a lil quick detail, or whatever you use when claying, before storing. Seal it in an air tight case or bag.

I also just spray it with some quick detailer and store it in the case it comes in.

My Ride: E46, E30,
I keep them in a cut off 2liter pepsi bottle with window cleaner and water mixture last a long time like that. Learned that from detailing center at uncles carwash.
