Best aftermarket shocks? Looking for first hand experiences...

I've got a 330ci with the Sport Package. I've been running on H&R Stage II (Sport) springs with stock Sachs shocks for about 5K miles and want to upgrade to aftermarket shocks. Not going the coil over route and would appreciate all help!

So far I've been told that the Bilstein Sports are the best bet for better handling and MOST IMPORTANTLY rebound control. Was told that the Bilsteins will virtually eliminate any and all "after bounce." Is this true?

Also, What are good prices for the Bilstein front struts and rear shocks?

Opinions and first hand experiences of Bilstein or other systems would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

BTW, the car is also running 18x8.5 wheels and 225/40s all round.

Thanks!

Oh and the H&R springs dropped the car waaaaaay lower than expected. Used to be a "4 finger" gap between top of front tire and bottom of fender. I can now ONLY fit 1 finger. That was like a 3.5" drop in front and they were Sport springs advertized by H&R as a 0.75" drop in front...

But I did go up to 18s... but the tire profile dropped from a 45 to a 40 so I don't know...

I'm running the H&R CupKit and love it!

I've heard good things about H&R, Billstein, and Koni...

Have you considered the H&R Cupkit?

Running Bilstein Shocks and Intrax Springs. Had the Intax for about a year and the Bilsteins for about a month. No complaints whatsoever.

Want a stiff ride with excellent rebound control... I was told the H&R Cup Kit has a soft ride - is that true?

InlineSiX:

How's the rebound control? Do the shocks control the springs well? So like if you hit big dip the car doesn't have any "after bounce?"

Thanks!
