I am looking into buying a used 2002-2003 745i. Any suggestions?

I was asking around and heard that the 2002-2003 745i versions have major problems. Is this true? I know that they have extended the warrenty on these years which is a good thing but is it worth the hassle? Has anyone gone with a 2002-2003 745i with out any problems? Let me know thanks.

I have an 02 745Li I owned it for about 19 months and it had about 3 lil problems and 1 recall so its not that bad!! plus a 100K warranty

What were the problems and how many miles does your car have at that point. Also, I've been hearing about some 745i's shutting down while driving. Has that ever been a issue? Was it a easy fix? Thanks in advance...

the only problem is the resale value.. i havent heard much bad at all from 745's..

I have about 40Kmi now but the problems where a bad amp, my exhaust would make a rattle when started in the mornings and I think some sensor in the motor which was a simple fix cuz they did it in an hour!! other then that it is one of my favorite cars that I have owned!!! I luv it..

in general the 2002's were the most problematic of the 7s, though this doesn't always hold merit as evidenced by 2fst2c's 02 745. for what its worth, my uncle bought an 02 745i last year, and he hasn't had to take it into the shop for anything other than routine maintenance.
