Flat-Panel HDTV Furniture

There is a huge thread on AVSForum about flat-panel furniture, and I thought that we should devote a thread on this forum to furniture as well. I particularly like this one.......




....mainly because it negates the need to cut holes in the wall. Have any of you seen similar set-ups?

i dunno man.

My take on plasma TV is make use of its thin size by hanging on a wall.

If you're gonna get AV furniture, you might as well get a better performing DLP/LCD TV which are not too bulky anyway. But that piece is nice though. It looks identical to the stand for my Sony big screen sans the back piece.

I'm generally against plasmas, but it's what I will be getting for the formal living room, but I'll be hanging it up like a painting so that it won't detract from the overall homey feel of the living room. Many times, big electronics ruin the flow of a room unless it is a dedicated HT room.

I think Plasmas look better hanging on the wall.

I like these salamder designs stands, but I would much rather hang the tv on the wall. I really just like the furniture, but not the poles holding up the tv.


Are you trying to get Ideas of what to do with your lcd?

Yeah. It's currently on a stand, but I'm considering mounting it on the wall, but making holes is a bit of a deterrent for me. I'm conflicted!

Plasmas just look soo good mounted on the wall. Once you have it mounted, you'll forget about the holes you just made to route the cables.

When I do mine, I'll never see the holes in the wall until I sell my house and move. the new owner will have to deal with it (j/k... I'd probably just patch it up or put a blank plastic output panel there.)
