pain in shins

Walking to class today I noticed a pain in both of my shins (that has been going on for some time). It is like the tendens and muscles are being cut in my legs, i don't know how to describe it other than it can be pretty painful. Any ideas? I was thinking shin splints but then again i don't even know what that is haha.

If it is shin splits do a couple of sets a day where you stand on your heel and lift your toes up. It should get better.

Shin splints...

If you started running or walking a whole lot ease it up. If not, then get new shoes if they are older than 6 months. Shin Splints are easily cured by rest. The tissues that connect your muscle to your tibia (shin) are taxed, probably from exercise.

Definitely sounds like shin splints.

My brother is a runner and when he started out he had bad shin splints, but fought through them, then he ended up with a stress fracture in his leg.

Definitely try new shoes (and maybe take a few days off), and if that doesn't help go see a doctor. You may need some orthotic inserts to put in your shoes or something.

depends if you get it with prolonged activity...can be shin splints or.........if you are walking or even running and your legs are beginning to bother you and/or having numbess or tingling and only resolves with rest and it takes anywhere from 2 min to 30 min or longer to resolve and even difficulty with your foot "slapping" the ground because of weakness after this occurs..
can be .... exertional compartment syndrome or just plain old shin splints if non of that occurs......
