Just got Comcast DVR with dual HDTV tuners - killer!

Last weekend we picked up a Comcast dual tuner DVR cable box and it's freaking sweet. Dual HDTV tuners and you can operate all the recording stuff from the normal cable remote. Kicking myself for not doing this sooner.

We bought a 42" plasma hdtv last year but I've been too cheap to pay for the HDTV cable box . . so this is my first experience with HDTV at home and it's rad. For some reason they're giving us all the pay channels, too . . so I've been recording HDTV movies.

If you're holding off on doing this, don't wait any longer.

Will post pics soon. This is in our bedroom.

HDTV is so nice. I just wish the user interface was better on it. After using ReplayTv and Tivo, the Comcast DVR interface really sucks.

When you get the Comcast DVR box, make sure they give you one of the later revision of the box. My sister just got the Comcast DVR box, but they gave her an older version. The SD picture quality sucked, HD was fine. We had it replaced with a newer one, it looked perfect.

Hahha, i love people like you spend $2K or more on a tv ad don't pay the little bit extra to get HD so that it is actually worth having the tv. Good work on finally coming arounfd and utiliing your HDTV with an HD receiver

Yeah, yeah yeah. HDTV cable content wasn't my real motivation to buy the tv. I bought it mostly for dvd playback with an upconverting dvd player (Samsung 841 - upconverts the image to the native resolution of my tv through DVI connection - it's pretty rad)). The tv was $2k. An EDTV version was like $1.9k. That said, for some reason the cable company is giving me all the movie channels for free right now . . and HDTV movie channels + dual channel DVR is a sweet combo. Without the DVR and free movies it wouldn't be worth it.

No. It is strickly for recording purposes to watch a program while recording another.

And Dish Network does that due to the pure fact that they suck balls.
