My Ride: Two-wheeled unicycle
Jbryon has gone HD!

I got an LG 30" Ultra Thin CRT (model # 30FS4D) and I am extremely pleased with it. It has a buttload of picture options, and more connections than any tv I've ever owned.

2 S-video/sound
1 Composite
2 full sets of component+audio
1 HDMI with HDCP

AND

A serial port for data. I'm guessing for firmware updates. The TV has none of the geometry problems like the Samsung Slimfit, and the built in HD-tuner is picking up a wealth of stations (march madness and mexican telenovela boobies in HD baby!)

Also, DVDs look stunning on progressive alone, I can't wait till BR or HD-DVD. My XBox games feel like entirely different games. I feel like I'm next-genning with Tony Hawk in 720p.

I also love the built-in channel browser. It loads up all your channels in a calender-style format, separated by signal (ie digital/antenna/cable), and previews them in a window. I also like the freeze button that lets you freeze live TV (you can here it continuing in the background but you essentially take a screenshot). Instead of having one button to cycle through all the inputs, it has a button for each one and you can assigne labels to them (ie game/dvd/etc).

Well thought out interface and remote!

For those wondering,
I had the option of going LCD but, perhaps it's just my vision, I don't find those displays very appealing. They look warpy or blurry? I can't describe it but I can't look at one too long. Even LCD computer monitors give me a headache. For the price (paid $830) vs performance aspect, I couldn't beat the slim-tube CRT HDTV concept. Someday I'll go flat-panel, but it wasn't worth it to me at this moment, I'm just not that happy with the current (affordable that is. the higher end ones rock my socks) crop.

if Las Vegas in 1080i has taught me anything, it's that nobody on that show wears a bra
