.. getting a Panny.. but don't know much about plasmas..

like title said.. I don't know much about plasmas but since I went to Best Buy, panasonic plasmas seem to have the best picture compared to many others including Pioneer, LG, Sony, etc.. anyways.. i wanted a cable card slot on the tv, what are the advantages and disadvantes besides that you don't need a cable box??..

btw. i'm looking at this one : http://www2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs...00000000005702

Advantages- you dont need a seperate cable box
disadantages- you cant access anything that requires upstream to the cable company such as channel guides and pay per view.

wait for the new ones

I'm getting the new 42 600U which should be coming in a month or so. It's actually cheaper than last years model with more features and is new.

If I was you I would wait until the new panny plama's come out.

another difference between the two models is the 60u does not have pc-input but the 600u has the pc-input (RGB)...

this is something i was looking for but then I thought if i'm buying a 3k tv why burn its life span to use it as a monitor... so it's not a big deal to me since i have 2 20" monitors for pc..

Cable Card.. getting cable vision with dvr playback so i don't think it'll work with an internal cable card slot

PIP.. never used it.. funny.. but really.. I had it on my other tv's and never had the need for it..

and i think there will be a price difference between 60U and 600U don't you think??

besides these is there a quality difference??

thanks for your responses!!

No quality difference. The 600U also has BBE sound.

I just got the TH-42PX60U a few days ago. I can't pass real judgment until I get HD service, but even regular programming looks OK. Other than that I love it.

the 600u will be about $500 more, when your talking 3k, 500 more isn't that much more for the benefit of the added features IMO.

i saw someone post about bbe sound.. but it don't come with it.. is it a big deal?

BBE® ViVA HD3D SoundNo - also, i'm getting the employee discount so it's about 3k.. this tv retails at 3499. is there a chance i can get it any cheaper..
