I'm trying to waterproof my vert top.
I first washed with Raggtop cloth top cleaner. I am using the Raggtop fabric sealant. When i spray it on as mf suggested it just kinda beads up and sits on top of the fabric like dew would sit on grass. Am i supposed to let it dry like that. i didn't like the look of the application and kinda gently wiped it around with a microfiber cloth. i looked better and dryed ok but during the last rain we had, it didn't bead like it was really waterproofed. I did three coats of the sealant but like i said i gently rubbed each one in rather than just letting dry as a mist. I am guessing that i probably just wiped most of it off. Should i be just spraying this on and letting it dry as they suggest? (i know that sounds funny but it looked like it would dry funny).
TIA, dave. |

Yes it is supposed to look like that. It is actually paraffin wax carried by a solvent and it slowly works its way into the fibers. i know what you mean though. The first time I saw it I though I looked funny also. It helps if you set the vehicle in the sun. 3 coats is recommended. Make sure the protectant has fully soaked in before applying the next coat.
