The sedan is e90 and the coupe is the e92 so i guess the e92

Learned what? The M3/4 came out for homologation requirements for racing. Now there's a real market for super sedans. Audi's had plenty of success with the S4 and RS4 respectivley. Why wouldn't it be a good idea?

Hmm the M4 will be interesting to see...Im guessing it will be the same body as the e90 sedan which has a completly different rear end then then coupe is expected to.

sedan is E90, Wagon is E91 and the Coupe will be E92. Oh and just to let everyone know, I have a friend that works in Munchen and he looked at me like I was stupid when I asked him about the idea of an E90 M3 or a 332ciT for that matter.

BMW actually had a TON of success with the E36 M3 Sedan. America is classified as a very strong market for sedans. Critics actually talked poorly of BMW's decision to not offer an E46 M3 Sedan stating that they lost high amounts of sales because of it. Everyone these days wants a sports sedan, and you don't get much better than an M3 for under the $75k mark. BMW is actually considering making an E90 M3 Sedan because of this potential lost revenue. It's actually very cool and as we have seen, there IS a concept out there put out by BMW for a sedan M3.

Can someone explain why there are different chasis codes for the newer 3'ers when the older chasis code "E46" can be used with either sedan, wagon, or coupe?

maybe different chassis's?

i think there is a market for 4 door ///M3's (not me though) just look how many ZHP's you see on the road these days.
