April 8-9th DE

Went to another DE last weekend with the PCA again. I got bumped up to yellow(green, blue, yellow, white) and solo'ed. People actually let you pass! It's incredible I know. And there was very little traffic because the pace is faster and... people let you pass, so I got quite a few clean laps in. No pics or video yet but I should have something by the end of this week.

Oh yea, Axxis Ultimates suck! Hopefully I can get some HT-10's by my next DE, April 29-30.

Get over yourself. J/K

Congrats! Id really like to know what your mods are that help you at the track?

I just joined www.chinmotorsports.com and will be taking the M5 and the 330 in a month or so.

Got R Comps for the 330 and a stoptech Front BBK.

Later,
J

Ground control coilovers 525/550
GC camber plates
Powerflex CAB's
ATE superblue
SS brake lines
Axxis ultimates... Did I mention they suck?
UUC sways
UUC ltw flywheel + M5 clutch
lightweight battery
rear seat, trunk mat, spare removed, all temporarily of course.
+ other small stuff I cant think of or don't matter

I'm still on street tires, Hankook Z212's. I, along with many others, am big fan on using street tires for several events, as opposed to starting out on R-comps. I'm at the point where I should probably move up to r-comps, RA1's in particular, but I can't afford them right now. If you can drive fast on street tires, you will be able to drive even faster on r-comps. Actually I'm a big fan of going to your first couple events stock. You won't be able to get everything out of the car for atleast several events anyways, so what's the point? It's not about how fasr YOUR CAR is, it's how fast YOU are.

I agree with you, however I have had a ton of time in tuned BMWs on the street and although its not the same as a closed circuit, I have been known to push the limits of the vehicles.

I have HREs and I wont track thos POS's, however I purchased SSR GT2s 18x8 and got dunlop R comps for $115ea NEW from tire Rack. No reason to buy street tires.

Ill be good, thanks for the heads up. I have similar setup as you.

2003 330i ZHP
6 speed
TMS Sways
GC coils 550/550
GC camber Plates
GC Front Swaybar endlinks
GC front lower hybrid control arm bushing
OEM M3 Strut Bar
18x8 SSR GT2
225/40/18 Dunlop Super Sport Race R Comps
Stoptech 13" Front BBK
UUC TSE 3
Gruppe M Intake
AA Software

I think the car should be pretty capable on the track. Now its just the time for me to get used to her.

Whatcha think? Im not some hotshot wannabe. I just want to be ready so I can pursue my hobby to the fullest. This has beena long time in the making.

You'll find out that what you thought was pushing the limit wasn't. The track is COMPLETELY different.

Go there with an open mind, and communicate with your instructor/s. When you mess up tell your instructor what you did wrong, or that you know you missed that apex, etc. It's ok to mess up, just know how you did it, or what made you do it. IE-learn from your mistakes. Slowly build up your speed, don't go out there thinking your superman, because you'll be in the grass/wall in no time. Watch your mirrors, and let people pass you asap in a safe/approved spot. Watch every corner worker station you pass, just a quick glance will do. And on your warm up/cool down lap wave to the corner workers. Sit closer to the steering wheel than you would on the street.

And it's not a race, you're there to learn

I would really suggest you don't use these for your first DE, or 5+ really for that matter.
