just search the yellow pages for a plastic supply house - someone who cuts plexiglass should have it...

You could also stop by a local stereo shop. If they are nice, they might sell you/give you a piece.

Once you modify the A/C vents, do you have to fabricate a custom bracket to mount these...
... I am not talking about the bexel on the sides of the face plate, I mean the brackets that the unit would sit in. Thanks

Then he made some MDF brackets that were screwed to the carrier from the top. Then he screwed the brackets together. The time consuming part is lining the head unit up with the trim. You actually have to angle the head unit slightly downward. Cutting the ductwork is the easy part.

Awesome
Ive been debating between a pop out head unit and this double DIN, this definately seals the deal. Looks so clean, I hope to have the same up soon. Awesome work.

I never angled mine downward - this is because I chose to recess my head back further then most. The trim piece could then make up the distance - I think it looks best that way rather then some of the other installs I've seen - just a personal opinion.

Also, I had a real bad glare, so angling it downward cut down on the glare slightly.

It's not a problem with all. I had an alpine flipout when I first got my E46 and it sucked worse that a carpc lcd. then i got a Pioneer and the difference was amazing. It was perfect during the day. All the Pioneers I've tried have been great. |

My Pioneer flipout never had a glare issue.
I'm about to chuck this POS Eclipse iPod adaptor out my window. Don't buy an Eclipse with the hopes that they have a great iPod interface. Although it does display the entire title.
