My friend and I decided to purchase one last week, it's on the way. We got ours off ebay for $215 shipped with the PC cables.

From the short amount of time that I was playing with it, it is DAMN close to what I dyno'd and the shiftlights alone are a GREAT feature.
I would be really interested in seeing for full write up.

I have thought about getting one of these myself.

For something like a G-tech, I think precision is more important than accuracy. At least it would be for me. I wouldn't care if it was always a tenth of a second fast as long as it was consistent, this is important for those who want to check out the impact of their mods.

For those who want a substitute for dragstrip timing, then it better be accurate and precise.

I hope whoever tests this evaluates both.

My friend got 13.8 in his 2001 M3 at the track.. but then again, that was his first run ever. If professional drivers get 13.2, aren't you not supposed to beat that time???

All this thread does is drive me nuts.. because it just makes me wanna go and run my car!! Have to wait till spring/summer tho

in reality, I feel its a hell of alot safer running on the drag strip with wide open pavement and a emergency crew at the sidelines, than 100 mph on the highway with 30 cars sharing the roads with you.

I have a brand new never used G-Tech Pro Competition I'll part with for $225 + shipping if anyone is interested. I paid $250 from the G-Tech website. I got it last week, never used it and need the money to get another mod instead. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. It's still boxed up in it's original package and includes all the components. I will get the G-Tech Pro Comp again eventually, I just don't need it at the moment. See the For Sale forum for my thread.
