They made the standard Z8 in model years 2001 and 2002. In 2003 they allowed Alpina to tune the Z8 to their specifications, and only 555 of those were made. In the USA, around 360 were sold.

Although I too prefer a wouldn't say that if you've driven this car. It's unbelievable, and in my opinion a better overall car than the standard Z8.
