Milltek System Question - Just got one

Guys,

I have just had the full Milltek system fitted to my 3.0 Z4. Does anyone have one on their 330i? It sounds awesome above 3500rpm when flooring and gives a slight performance increase. However between 1500 and 2750 rpm it is far too loud...in fact so much so it gives me a sore head, it's a real shame and not what I expected for the price.

So my question is what is causing this booming at those engine speeds? Is it the back box or the racing cats? I don't think I can continue to drive the car like that. If it's the racing cats then I'll remove them and fit the standard ones and back it a cat back system. What do you think?

its the back box. the cats do not alter the sound like a resonator would. love those milltek tips though

Yeah I love the look of it too and the sound above 3500rpm is out of this worlkd.Do you think the back box can be modified? Perhaps opened up and soundproofing added?

Do you know if the "Eisenmann" back box could be fitted to the Milltek race cats?

I know the Eisenmann race is said to be as loud as the Milltek, but if it doesn't drone then it would be perfect...

After posting, I went to their website to find that their "motto" is "Sound that will blow your mind, not your ears!"
