Testing Predator Chromiums

I did a search on how to test the predator chromium's but I didn't come up with much. The install guide doesn't mention anything either. How would I go about testing each ring? Can I just hook them up to a 12V source? What about a 9V battery? It would seem to me that I need some sort of relay before hooking it up to a straight 12V source. Any input?

You connect the rings to the inverters and get the inverters 12 volts in the proper polarity (the inverters can be damaged if connected wrong). Black/brown are usually grounds on the inverters. The rings operate at a few hundred volts AC. A9V battery would probably work, but you can just use your car too
