Will the lcm reflash help my p46's??

my lights flicker a bit at startup which i know is normal due to the fact i had halogens and now p46's. some people i have talked to said that i need a reflash and some said the reflash wont work! So not sure what the best solution for this would be! i need some help!

by flickering a bit at start up you mean like 10-15 times? or time wise like a minute? you have a facelift sedan right?

yea it flickers about 10-15 times and yes i have a facelift sedan

hmm, i think i had this exact problem when i had p46s, where both are flickering and at the same time getting brighter. you still have the headlight warning right? but it goes away after you turn it on and off again. just get a reflash, it should go away.

Where in southern cali can someone get a reflash? As far as I know, or as far as Im told, no dealer in southern california has ever heard of an LCM Reflash or Xenon reprogramming or anything like that . Please let me know; I have my xenon headlights sitting in my office collecting dust and I have the same flickering problem.

lol cause they're all idiots. just tell them you wanna update your lcm to the newest version and ask specifically to program for the bixenon (might have to explain to them that you want it so that your highs don't work, just flash to pass) had to go through this with the tech at crevier, but all in all he was a good guy and redid it for me for free after i left and came back an hour later.

i am planning to go to crevier to do the reflash but most likely going to have to go through the bull s*** to explain to them what it is!

Hawthorne blvd by south bay galleria across the street from shoe city, i think they're having a sale on sneakers too. i upgraded to xenons and victor flahsed my ecu for 100.00 dollars (a bit high but beats the dealer's quote of 250 just to look at it) tell them marlon sent you maybe, he'll hook you up. he turned on my DRLs and asked me i wanted to reprogram anything esle while he had it hooked up; 20 mins topps for the entire process.

^ 250?! which dealer? i did it at crevier for the same price as you. well they charged me 130 first but since the guy did it wrong the first time i got back 30. still 130 is heck of a lot cheaper than whatever dealership you went to.

^ south bay BMW said that i coud not do a retro fit on the car and said that i would have to update all the wiring, and they said it would cost 250 just to look at it, and then they can tell me what i can do after that; he also said it was a myth to upgrade halogen to xenons; but south bay always sucks, they even put bmw badges on 4 scion xbs and call it thier transportation shuttles; incase anyone in the southbay was wondering why those scion have bmw badges. ill try to snap a pic next time i see one around town.

lol would like to see that. yea when i went to irvine bmw, they told me the same thing. it's not possible and that they will need to keep the car for 3 days to diagnose it and then tell me. i just told them i just needed an lcm reflash and the head tech that had been working there for 15 years didn't know what i was talking about. i just took it to another dealership, crevier, and they took care of it after some explaining. at least they knew what it meant.

i think it's different on facelifted sedans. i know you can't pull out the fuse to get rid of the warning and when you do the oem bixenon retro, it won't work when you turn it on. it just turns on then flickers constantly until you get a reflash
