How to get wider up top?

hey guys,
been working out for a few monthes now. I've noticed tremedous gains in my arms but not as much in terms of back and chest. Is there a way for me to isolate those areas more. I think I'm using my arms to much when I bench and do rows and pull downs. How do I get wider up top? thanks

try doing traps and shoulders as well. If you want to feel the chest more when you bench, maybe you should try going a little slower and picture your chest muscle fibers getting destroyed.

Where you pick up the weight the way your mother told you not to.

Basically, you bend at the waist and pick up a barbell off the ground.

robbing with a sword is a good thing

I have that same problem. Recently, my friend told me that I've been using my arms too much when I bench. I started using my chest more when I bench, and now my chest is hurting like hell. I like it lol. And I've started doing incline and decline bench presses too. I've also started doing more lateral pull. Can anyone suggest any other routines?

You have to seriously concentrate on trying to target the area you want to hit. You should try a wider grip when benching to target more of your pecs rather than your tris. There are tons of different exercises for both chest and back...just research places like bodybuilding.com and try the exercises with perfect form. Also...to get wider you basically need lats/back...i'm assuming you want the inverted pyramid look.
