HOLY CRAP, after Mite46 you are the baddest electric diy'er i have ever seen. I would of just put the radio in the glove. That shows how good you really are. Congrats on the install.

Case $50
Motherboard (CPU on board + vga + sound) $110 RAM: $20 80GB Laptop Hard Disk: $90 M2 12v DC to DC psu: $45 Total around $315 without the TFT. And when compared, the Xenarc TFT is not worth the extra $200.. Low built quality and you can search to get a descent TFT with the same brightness for much less and you won't get a heart attack if the monitor fails. Prices are just an estimate, I did almost all my shopping from ebay so if you take your time you will probably find these in lower prices. |

Wow that is really cheap. And i would use the factory radio, which would save 200 dollars. I am just going to put it in the glove. Nothing too fancey. I am pretty sure i am going to use this. Thanks.

Yep! I went aftermarket because I wanted the radio function as a "legacy unit". OEM radio will do fine, you just have to get the adaptor to convert the CD port to AUX-In, in order to use it with the PC's Soundcard output

Very nice! I can't wait untill I can post pics of my finished CarPC setup.
May I ask what method you used to relocate just the headunit's faceplate? I'm looking at doing a similar setup.
