Will 225/45/17 fit on my OEM rims???

I have a 2001 330xi with OEM 17 inch rims and the OEM tires size 205/50/17.

The new tires I want to buy aren't available in this stock size. The closest would be 225/45/17

I know that 225/45/17 tires will have the same overall diameter at the stock 205/50/17. But will they fit on the stock rim since they are wider? Even if they'll fit, will they look weird?

Thanks.

Common upgrade, same overall diameter, you're good to go

My 2002 325i Sport came with 17" wheels and 225/45/17 tires. So, if your 17" wheels are the same width as mine, I'd think you'd be fine.
