Alternative to Goodyear RS-A runflats?

I have the stock Goodyear Eagle RS-A 205-50-17 runflats on my 330Xi and I need to replace them. Its a lease car that I will be returning at the end of this year, and I was told by BMW that I must have runflats on the car or I will be charged for them when I return it.

Are there other good options besides going with the same RS-A's? I do need it to be an all-season tire.

Also, can you dismount and remount a runflat tire? If I were to find a used set would there be anyrisk of damaging the tire?

Thanks,
Greg

you can dismount a run flat tire. I would say a michelin pilot sport a/s would be your best bet, or just get a used set of the tires you already have on ebay.

Wow who at BMW told you that? The dealer? I am surprised because as far as I know they didnt make Runflats stock until the E90 and on the Z4's because we have spare tires.

I would double check on that, I dont think they really have to be runflats, just good tires with a certain amount of tread left. I could see if all Xi's came with runflats (which may be the case but I dont think so) but if they dont I dont believe they can tell you that it has to be runflats.

wrong you have to put those run flats back on the car.
If he has a 2004 or newer, they come standard with run flats on the sports package cars for sure. not sure about any other packages but I would be my run flats they do.
Like the guy said in another post. Do a ebay search for run flats.

Good luck.

I do have to have runflats since my car did come with them stock. Its an 05 with the sport package. I would much prefer to not put them back on, but I have no choice. I'll keep an eye on Ebay and see if I can pick up a used set for cheap.
