Do I go with 18" or 19" wheels... you decide!

As my quest for staggered 18" Breyton Visions has continued I found a few replicas being sold here in the states and in the UK. In the UK a company called Dare Motorsports makes a wheel called the X3 which seems available in a staggered 18" setup. Here in the states a company called Moven has the m16, but only in 19" so I'm told.

So do I keep searching for authentic Breyton's, try to import some Dare Motorsport 18s, or go with 19 Moven's?

Here's the Moven m16 19's installed (my car is black)

The people over at autornd.com will hook me up with 4 Moven 19x8.5 for $750+s/h .. which seems like a deal to me.

Here's the Dare x3's

I'm also thinking about some clearance 18" SSR GT7-Hs from TireRack @419 ea (!!)

or maybe even the 18" Ace Allure's

I forgot to mention that I've also considered the CSL Reps from Modbargains.com ... good deal, but honestly not my favorite wheel.

19's hands down. I too was on the fence a couple of months ago and I'm glad I went with One Nines

How does ride quality differ? I mean -- I'm aggresive.

Get's 19's or you'll frequently second guess your decision.

if you're set on this wheel specifically then you better go with the 19"...do you have any idea what shipping overseas and duties and **** will be on 4 18" rims...after all is said and done you would spend as much as you would on a set of BBS

remind me again why the Breyton's are unavailable? personally the reps there don't look as good as the real Visions. I'm a fan and got a quote recently here in Toronto at a BMW dealership no less, for a set of 18" Visions.

That may be your other option...order them in Canada, take a road trip to pick em up and avoid duties (i think they are German made which is not protected from NAFTA).

personally - not a diss - i don't see how any of those rims above are worth paying $ for...i don't see any of them as an improvement easthetically over oem 17"s...like i would prefer my type 44s all day long over those. maybe the look nicer in person, but the vision reps just look really bad imo, i don't know what it is about them

What'd the dealership quote you? I'd totally be willing to make a trip to Toronto to pick up Vision's in 18" ... I have a friend there so I'd have a place to crash. How would the "duty-police" even catch me? I could paypal money to someone, have them buy em .. slap 'em on and be done with it.

The reason for the new wheels is that I DESPERATLEY need new tires. My 16s(!!) style 54 (link here) are just straight up FUG and one is got a real nice hop in it. I dont see the sense in spending anything to replace the one and buy skins on them. I also dont have a boatload of cash on hand, so I have to go towards the cheaper side... but I might splurge some for a nice set of visions. Mmmm. But you're right - those rims above aren't anything spectacular.

$800 / rim in Cdn$ (~ $US695)

in all honesty it isn't worth it - i like them alot, but would never spend 4gs for wheels and tires.

get the CSLs man so reasonably priced and really nice looking
