i've taken her up to 155mph - 2:00am, myself and 2 passengers, targa top on, no one else on the road (so this was NOT a race). by the way, i did not hit the governer (which i've removed). i just happened to decide to let off @ 155mph. the fun thing about it wasn't the top speed, but rather how fast i got there

I had it pegged with the 3.15 gears which puts me right around 163mph. and the car got there faster than I thought for a 325I with mods

132, but the speedo prb wasnt right cause the '99 323i is supposed to be goverened at 128

170 on an unlimited speed limit stretch on the Autobahn heading for Nürburgring!
Getting the ECU remapped next week, so the next trip to Nürburgring I won't be held back because of the topspeed limiter.

Back when i was in high school, i had a dinan chipped (govenor lifted), dinan exhaust, e30 325 with 190hp

, and i had a loooong country road to school, and i used run ~120 ALWAYS and on some of the longer straightaways i think i topped 145, i was paying more attention to the road than the speedometer because it was so damned fast. i want to say it might have hit 150. anways, thats what i got to say. haha.

170 is a bit high for an M3 with a top speed limiter (i thought it is governed at 155mph)...or is the euro M3 governed at a higher top speed than the USDM M3? OR...did you mean 170kph?
