Who else hates angel eyes?

I'm wondering if there is an age / generational gap.... When you guys vote... state your age...

Looks so sick, not to mention, HID fogs are brighter than usual halogen headlights anyways so you can still see fine

I think they look great AND they make you more visible during the day. They're called "Eyes" for a reason .... 'cos they look like eyes of course and eyes draw you in. The black inner area is the pupil. My theory is that human beings are attracted to eyes subconsciously or below the subconscious..they give a subliminal message which we respond to. We look at em! so imo they offer greater safety! I wonder if bmw were thinking along those lines too...

Age 36, love em, but only on E46s, and only good ones. I've had a set of the earlier generation without the ring covers and backing, and I thought they looked good at the time, but looking back I think they look like crap now. Gotta be good ones with covers, not just CCFL rings.

Don't like any of em on E36s or E90s, and I completely HATE them on X3/X5/etc. I think they look completely stupid on trucks for some reason, but thats just me.

Besides the cool factor everyone states, they do have a functional purpose. They serve as daytime runnning lights. It makes the car clearly noticable to other drivers on the road.

I need to pick up a set of the cold ballasts however, angle eyes are lame when they are flickering.

Hate them as well as clear lenses.

I'm very much a to-each-his-own sort of guy - if it makes you happy to have them on your car, by all means make yourself happy and who cares what anyone else thinks.

But for the the life of me, I cannot understand the excitement they generate nor how they can possibly provide a decent happiness ROI in comparison with other ways you could spend that money. Same for clear corners, LED tails, 19 inch wheels, blue headlights, wings, carbon fiber look, etc.

But hey, it's your car, your money, your happiness, so do what you want to do.

Of course, the fact that I'd guess probably 10 to 20 years older than most on this forum may have something to do with my lack of understanding...

I guess I am old school. To me modding is all about power, performance and handling not about blling.

Is the same way I feel when people complain about the sound system and then add those disgusting woofers in the trunk. I suppose the sound waves generated must make the car go faster

I have many mods on my car but not a single one relates to cosmetics.

I like them thats why I have them but they are pretty played out.

It's nice to see someone who is only in their 30's say that they like them. I don't really think that it has do with age, but more so with personal preference. I love 'em and I'm 21 ; The Rock loves em and he's 36.

Love them and I am 19. They are going to be my next mod.

Personally, I don't really like them. NOt my cup of tea.

I see them way too often on this forum for my personal preference, therefor get used to them too quickly and don't feel like they are anything special anymore.

Then I jump in my non-DDE ride and drive down the german roads, where no E46 has them, and remember howfine they look again, especialy with a bright/reflective interior trim...

I voted yes. Although they are common here, they still amaze me and look much better than the OEM Hella ones on the newer BMW's.
