what is the difference projector/non projector angel eyes

I just bought projector insides to do a swap out with my stock headlights. I have halos already, but they are non projector. what is the difference and can I retrofit? I did do a search but could not find anything to help me. anything would be great

The halo kits themselves are no different between projectors and non-projectors.
