they do make them for th other side but the space there is smaller so its either only for small subs or you end up sticking out alot further. plus using both would mean alot of work (trial and error ) to get them both the same volume (not to hard ) but toget them accousticalysimalr would be hard otheriwse the subs wouls be sounding abit wierd tuned to different frequencies !

two 10's could be done easily on the driver's side, however, you would have to cut/modify the trunk liner and ditch any electronics back there - i.e. changer, amp, etc.

That box is nice it saves a lot of trunk space but your going to get a very minimal effect from a small box and 10 inch speaker even if its JL. The back seat of the E46 is made out of metal, or more like sound proofing material. I think a vented or ported box would be better and is not much harder to construct. You will here sounds you are missing with a subwoofer but most e46's come with a stock sub woofer anyway if that is what you opted for. This is just my personal opinion I invested a lot of money in my stereo system to feel an effect, but I basically have no trunk. I use 2 diamond audio 12's and a 1300 watt zapco amp with a custom ported box. Ill send pictures. Its just your preference...

probably the best option for audiophiles.....and when needed u can pull the sub when you have to haul luggage. this is a jl box and it came in at exactly the dimensions of the trunk/rear seat angle. look at how the shoulders are right at the ends of the enclosure. it's not even bolted and it never moved an inch to this day....
it looks big but it's pretty small. heavy though....big on bass...just a suggestion. |

Here's my magic box. It's super light yet feels very solid. The only thing I don't like about it is the thin speaker wires that were soldered to the terminals. I will be de-soldering them and adding larger wires. I am very happy with it and can't wait till my W7 comes in

There was a group buy on the m3 forum and I got a great price on it. You still might be able to get a good price on it if you call or email the owner. His name is Nazar and is a nice guy. I haven't tried to install it yet but from what i've heard it can take a lil work getting it in beacuse it fits snug. It is almost completely fiberglass and is about 1.25 sealed if I remember correctly. I believe it was originally designed to be the correct specs for a w7. It also comes in 12". I was trying to decide between a 10w7 or a 12w6 and I ended up going with the w7. My sub should be coming in this week so i'll be test fitting it soon. I'll post pics of the fit if you guys want to see it

here are some pics from their site:
![]() ![]() with the box taking up so little room I doubt you'll need to remove it to put stuff in your trunk. I have 2 12s in huge boxes in my trunk right now so i'll be gaining a lot of space

thanks 4 all that info....looks tempting, but probably have to suffer a bit in the bass dept if i swap out what i have for this.
mine isn't bolted down, so all i have to do is pull the wires and pull the box out.... have some family that i'd take to-from the airport, so sometimes every cubic inch comes in handy u know |

the fit is perfect. I had to screw 3 screws on the bottom of it to attach it to the battery cover. The W7 was too deep for it though. The magnet was hitting the bottom. I was pretty pissed because this enclosure is supposedly made specifically for that sub. I had a shop make an mdf ring to raise the speaker a lil. As for sound it sounds great. This is the best sounding sub I have ever had. With the back seat down it can hit as hard as my 2 12s on some songs. It rattles my license plate like crazy. Doesn't bother me cuz I can't hear it inside the car but I think i'm going to put some foam on it to stop the rattling. I am/was a big basshead who until recently was only satisfied with the bass from 2 12s. I am very happy with this sub and kind of happy with the box. I get a lot of compliments about how good my sub sounds.
