speakers for my sedan Diamond Audio?

I was going to go for Infinity Kappas, but I may have just changed my mind to go with Diamond Audio.

Is it worth the extra$$? It will me M6 series component in the front & M3 series coax in the rear, versus Kappas front & rear.

The diamonds will cost me $50 more, the M6 are mid level speakers, the rears are the entry level speakers...

If I go with Infinity, they are mid level speakers all around.

I would go Diamond all the way.. even the M3 speaker which is their lowest level will sound better than a high level from most other manufacturers...

I have the S600 diamonds (highest line) in my Lexus GS and I think they are OK.....the older ones where much much better. I would probally buy them again though...I think for around $500 they are very good quality.....

With $500.00 to spend on spkrs, also try Rainbow, Phoenix Gold Ti Elite, Focal, CDTs, Adire Audio Kodas, and countless others. All as good if not better than Diamond.

pheonix gold speakers have never been good, but the elite series is new though...Im actually going to pheonix gold's factory tomorrow.

The focal has the crapest crossovers I have ever seen...I don't see how they are considered high end with cross overs that small...plus arn't they french??? F*ck the French!

Phoenix Gold Ti-Elites are manufactured by morel....
And the Focals I'm referring to are the Utopias....Just because the crossover is small doesn't mean they are crap

And what does being French have anything to do with it..???

your kinda right on the cross over part but ANY high end speaker use massive cross overs the focals are extra small...I mean Pyle components use bigger x-overs.

And alot of Americans are angry at the french..including me.

OK OK...I'm going to steer clear of the whole french thing.

Now as for crossovers, size and appearance has nothing to do with how well a crossover works. Do you know why some companies even use large crossovers? Its because many manufactures use the crossover to tame tweeter spikes, basically to level the response curve so the two drivers (tweeter/midrange) sound good with one another. Take Dynaudio, DLS, Rainbow, and countless other high-end speaker companies, ALL OF THEM USE CROSSOVERS ROUGHLY THE SAME SIZE! They don't use EXTRA-LARGE x-overs because their comp set don't need it. Just remember what a X-over really is and its primary purpose and you'll realize why they just don't need to be all that big.

BTW, my friend just got the Utopia 165W3 3-way set. We took a in-depth look at the crossover that it came along with, and I must say that damn thing is big. Take a look:

What do you think of the top of the line MB Quarts Q's? The ones that are like $1400 a set?

The reason I would buy the Hex over the Focals is the mounting depth is much smaller.
