Business cassette is not compatible for AUX. You will need something like our AUX kit:

AUX is only compatible on 9/2002+ vehicles, all previous models must use the kit in post #122.

for those of you who don't want to go through the trouble... the aux input cable is only $31.96 (82110149389) now at tischer online unless i'm mistaken about the part number.

i just don't want to hook it up to my glove compartment because i don't want to reach all the way over there to change playlists or songs...

any reason why they don't have an aux cable that uses the line level output of the ipod??? tom?

AUX is nothing but an audio input, it will not offer charging. Belkin might have a cable that can perform both for you - choose a connector that gets the audio from the dock connector for the cleanest sound.

The charger is creating a ground loop, this has been documented before. Install a GLI or noise filter on the power line in order to fix the problem.

12 Amp Power Noise Filter

Let me know if you have any further questions

It will need to be within the source's power wire.

guys...
some one posted a pdf file earlier in this thread named "BMW AUX Input Installation".. read it carefully u'll find that it says in page 1 under "List of special equipment" that there are 3 diff cables for diff head units..
one of them is for Bmw professional radio (casette hu) SA 663.
one more thing, SA 661+650 which are the codes for BMW Business cd uses the same aux cable as SA 663.. which means that Aux cable will work on casette HUs as well as it says in page 5..
i know its a bit confusing but if u check the pdf file u'll know what i mean..

cuz i have to say it doesnt make any sense that the aux cable works with business cd HU and not with casette HU...

i have a 2001 325i but i just remembered 10 mins ago that the dealer changed my HU 2 years ago under warranty so it definitely is post 9/2002..

so plz guys check it out and let me know what u think..
waiting for feedback..

So because my 325 Cic is produced 4/02 it won't support the AUX option and kit unless I have a HU 9/02 and higher then. Even if my SW version is 43? I am a little confused. I understand HU 9/02+ but how about software? If I have SW 43+ then even if I have a HU not built from 9/02+ I will be able to use Aux then?

If I buy a 9/02+ HU and install it, will i need to take it to the dealership for coding or whatever? With the 9/02+ HU i can just plug it into car and it should work then? Same plugs same everything is that it then? And after that I just go and buy the OEM BMW IPOD kit if I want yes?

Thanks.

Your SV should not be 45, but purchase the AUX cable and see if you get the option. No dealer coding is necessary.

Opps hehehe i meant SV 43. My bad, i updated my post thanks for pointing out the typo.

Dang it though....I just went out and checked it out. SV 08-02-41. Looks like regardless I will have to upgrade the deck. Crappy deal for me.

So if I purchase a new updated deck with SV 43 and also produced 9/02+, can I just plug in the deck and all should be good or is there additional wiring or anything so the deck will work properly in my car?

Also, do you know what the rest of the info mean?

That's all I can remember seeing off the top of my head. Can anyone explain the codes and stuff? Thanks.

The other items do not pertain to AUX (serial number, software version, area), but an upgraded deck will give your AUX support.

AUX has an adjustable gain that can tune the level in 5 different increments.
