EBAY Lighting Question
Hey Guys,
I'm new around here and have been lurking for the past week reading a lot and doing research. I would like to get some some honest feedback on some ebay lighting stuff I'm considering. Last week I bought my 2005 330xi, I love it! I am already getting started on the MODs. My 18" CSL's with Kumho ECSTA ASX "Ultra High Performance All-Season tires" and new Clear Tails are ordered and on the way from ModBargains.com. I'm getting tint today at noon and now I'm also looking at lighting. I want something that looks good and will last but I DO NOT need top of the line. I know the deal, you only get what you pay for. But from the pics on the listing these are DEPO so not some knockoff. Here is the link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=170112541943 I asked the guy (redcometm3) for pricing on the upgrade to the XENON HID Pre-Installed, and the CCFL Angels upgrade from the LED. here is his reply. "We can install HID kit (real HID with ballasts) for additional $220, you choice of the bulbs 6000k, 8000k, 10000k or 12000k. Please contact me first for payment instruction if you want to add the pre-installed HID kit. CCFL upgrade is additional $120 (parts and labors)." He said he would also throw in the side markers I want for $20 more. This would give me the Projector headlight with XENON HID and CCFL, the clear corners, and side markers for under $750 delivered. Seems like a good deal to me, can you please inform me why I am either getting a sweet deal or getting ripped a new one. Thanks! Last edited by addicted2cars; 05-23-2007 at 08:47 AM. |

Thanks for the info!
I found this one: It might be a little bit cheaper. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/02-05...spagenameZWD1V But I can't find a set of regular projectors with HID without either LED or CCFL included. Do you remember who you got yours from? |

if i were you i would pay the extra cash and buy them through jlevisw.com
The peice of mind is worth way more than you will spend for their premium product. Furthermore, xenon lights and angel eyes WILL have problems... shorts, faults, etc. Having a lifetime warranty through jlevisw.com will save hundreds in the long run

Here's the bottom line. All these eBay vendors do is receive and ship.
They don't check quality, don't check if the parts work properly, and don't check if the parts are going to fit your car - that's up to you. You are paying $400 for something that you would be paying $485 for with us and you'd be getting all that AND testing, brighter angel eyes, etc. Our price now is $625 for the non-facelift and $675 for the facelifted ones with Xenons. and a warranty.

BTW - if you DIY the angel eyes, they are only $99.

So everyone that is selling these kits seems to have this little blurb "professional install suggested"
Is this really that difficult? If so, how much does the install cost on average and what are the recommended install shops around Maryland? |

And here's what the f/l units will look like for that price:
