not doubting that sts does good work but the bottom line is rear mount turbo's are less efficient for several reasons. You can find proof of this is in competitive racing. The disadvantages of running rear mount are plentiful.

Not so fast there buddy. Rear mount turbos have many advantages and disadvantages. Competitive racing? What series and/or rules apply. What class? This is fairly new stuff, so I know it hasn't hit circuit racing hard yet. The STS cars I've seen at the 1/4 have all run strong, hard, and driven home in one piece. I think you're just speculating.

Articles about STS's systems.

7 lbs of boost, 463/511 at the wheels, quieter than stock, and full boost at 3k? Yeah, it's an F-body, but you can't deny the merits of rear mount technology.

As for this M5? Not quite my cup of tea. I think that much power really will ruin this car. And I wonder how the SMG is going to handle that kind of power.

Rear mount turbos are def. not a bad idea though. I'm a GM guy that really doesn't like FI, but the STS cars have been holding up really well. Well that, and GenIII and Gen IV motors love boost. I'd like to see the setup on an S54.
