head unit problem alpine 7897

Hi guys,I have a question I just installed the alpine 7897 and I have audio when the radio is playing but no sound for cds.The cds are playing I just cant hear them.Thanks for any help.I have the hk system.

the amp thinks the radio is off and turns the amp off probably. I'd check the source you used for the remote turn on at the amp.

So it probably is not the radio,its how I wired it.Thanks again for the help.

hey buddy i should have the answer to your problem....alpine has two remote wires one is for the power ant. and the other is for the amps. i think the solid blue is for the power ant. so when the radio is on it sends out a signal to the amp, but when the cd is on it cuts the signal so your ant goes down. bimmer don't have power ants. so it is not needed. the blue and white one is used for amp turn and whether or not you use cd or radio it sends a signal to the amp. so this check these wires they should be listed on the radio shell. hopefully this answer you problem text me back if it does. peace
