Need a little help
Can anyone point me to a DIY on changing out my xenons? My right front one burnt out. Not sure what happened but there is a bunch of broken glass from the bulb floating around in there. I would also like some advice. I'm looking at buying the 6000K bulbs from bimmian, the Pure White Color. Does anybody have any good pics of them on their car? Or pics of their recommendations?

Changing out your xenon bulbs is very straight forward. Remove the rubber boot on the back of the high beam, untwist the red plug on the back of the bulb, untwist the black plastic coupler on the base of the bulb and slide out the old bulb. You will probably want to use a vacuum to get rid of all the shards inside the projector if your bulb did burst for some reason. Slide in the new bulb but when handling the new bulb, MAKE SURE to only touch the bulb by the black plastic base, not the glass itself. Place and twist the black coupler back on the base of the bulb, twist the red plug back on and place the rubber boot on the back of the headlight. Make sure the rubber boot is completely secured around the headlight as if it isn't, you will get condensation in the headlight.
You can upgrade your stock headlight bulbs with our D2S replacements below. Here is a comparison picture between stock 4300k and our 6000k replacements as well as a few full 6000k setups. D2S Upgrade Bulbs ![]() ![]() |

Are the bulbs the same for all e46's. I have a 1999 328i. Drive a lot at night. What would you recommend?

Yep, all E46 factory xenon equipped cars use the D2S type bulb. I'd recommend going with the 6000k, it's a nice upgrade over OEM as you get rid of the yellowish color without losing much in the way of light output.
