i am having simular problems i have now ordered a special set of hids which are specially desinged for the e46 i am told that the ballast are not powerful enough & the kit will contain resisitors sounds like to me you should try resistors ( i just installed leds to my sidelights) both bulb failures came up on the dash when i fitted resistors to the wires all problems went away

You will need to either install a set of resistors or get your ECU reflashed to enabled xenons in order to get rid of the bulb out warning.

Here is the resistor you need, you will need a pair or one per side:
http://jlevistreetwerks.com/store/%3...49fa1bc8029792 The ECU reflash is performed by your dealer and is just when they select the xenon retrofit path to enable xenons versus halogens. |

You can do that as well although it's rather hit or miss if that will solve the issue with a given car. It seems to work for 99-01 vehicles but not always.

how long does an ECU reflash take? how much is the cost to ship the resistor from to dubai. i will try to pull fuse 32 and see what happens. i know i did that for the angel eyes but only went away when i disconnected the remotefunction and the daylight running. thanks

pullrd fuse 32 and surprisingly it went away. now i have to test it while driving around. the car is covered and resting for 5 days as i am using my wifes car. thanks alot. i'm crossing my finger tha it'll stay away and not resort to anymore additional gadgets and rewiring. though i wished this was the same solution for the ange eyes.l will keep you posted

There should be no error related to your angel eyes provided they are wired correctly. Angel eyes run independent of the headlight so they will not interfere with bulb out warnings.

I haven't read all the responses, but it sounds like you did the right thing.
All pre-01.5 cars lose the error message once fuse 32 is pulled.
