ICE PROJECT TRUNK:
he made the subbox in orde for a project in another car. so the trunk you see now, is made in another car (Renault Clio). Cause of the change of car, he's getting the subbox fitted for the BMW. but how to show you the make of this: This will be the Sub-box. With 4 x 13 cm Focal Utopia 5WS in it ![]() ![]() This is the plate where the box will float on. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() this is about 3mm on the outside and milled about 2cm in it, so it would fold better.

![]() after that that , he put some fiberglass on it. Rubbed it a couple of hours, the get it all nice and round. The piece I wanted to cover in Carbonkevlar, I painted black, to be sure the layer underneath won't show. ![]() Carbonkevlar, with varnish ![]() ![]() ![]() you can see how it should look like ![]() You can't see much on the pics, cause it must be covered in varnish a couple of times. The round plate will be covered in CF, and he thought it would give a nice contrast between the 2 parts.

milled lots of MDF.
milled some rings to put the woofers in. ![]() ![]() checked it they were slanting enought, and screwed them tight ![]() Here a picture of the bottomside, where he made wholes , to let the sound flow outside. ![]() bottomside. the height of the subbox is about 4,5mm. It must be about 1/3 of the contour of the speaker, and they are 13cm,so ![]() here you can see the busses he used. ![]() will look like thise ![]() ![]() still some more polyester work to do did some preparation to stretch the cloth nicely ![]() The triangles you see wil come in CF, in the middle he'll make a alu piece. He milled some KUNGFU triangles in aluminium![]() ![]() I you mill this , take a low amount of rates/minute, and much oil. I'f you're done, just throw the mill in the garbage ![]() made only one model, and copied it ![]()

Worked the rings nicely in filler.
They have a great fit ! Same as the alu-pieces. Lay perfect. (many hours of rubbing, fitting, ... ![]() ![]() The wholes you can see in the alu, don't worry about it. It'll be covered in CF.. ![]() ![]() The next thing on the list is something very difficult. The connections of the speakers he'll make in copper, of 5mm thickness. Cables are so boring ![]() some cupper 5mm thickness, more didn't fit in the speaker. ![]() Next thing is to take a mold where he can fold 8 little bars, so all 8 bars are exactly the same. after that, rubb it al and polish.

Copper connections are ready.
made a model first, took a mold, and fold it the same way. Sawed it all, rubbed it, and polished. ![]() ![]() On this picture you can see he putt a whole in the bottomside to connect the cables. ![]() The cupper wil go to the middle, so I made a alu plated where the bars fitt right on in. ![]() ![]() ![]() He let the alu triangles bade in a little CF. ![]() ![]() some more CF. This is the bottom plate where the box is put on. sprayed it in black offcourse, don't want the colour of the wood come throu ![]() covered in in CF and putt couple of layers expoy to get some nice thickness. When everything is nicely rubbed, he'll put one layer of varnisch over it. Then, you'll have to make sure, you see about 8cm of this piece on the outside. the rest you don't see , at the bottom ![]() Here you can see, he used a LED-holder, to fasten the bars. These will come throu the alu piece in the middle. ![]() Varnished it for the first time, rubbed some more, varnished, rubbed, varnished, rubbed, ........... ![]() ![]() ![]()
