Finally back to BMW

Hello ladies and gentlemen!

This Friday I will be picking up a 2000 323ci, thus finally bringing me back to my roots!

The first car I bought 11 years ago was a 1982 320is back when I was in high school. I modified just about every piece of the suspension and that car taught me early on what a nice handling car should be like. Then I moved on to a 325i very shortly. However, since I was in junior college at that point, the practical side of me said I need a cheaper and more efficient car, so I bought a used Prelude and loved that car til someone cut me off and hit me on the freeway and totalled it. Then came my 1998 Integra, the first car I bought brand new! After that, came the beauty, my 2005 G35 coupe, the present to myself for graduating college and getting a good job. However, a year after I bought my own place, the G35 had to go, and I went back to driving the Integra as my day to day driver.

Fast forward to one month ago, when my Integra was stolen by a bunch of amateur thieves. Strangely, the thieves weren't the cause of the car being totalled out, they actually didn't strip very much off the car. It was the fact that the insurance company sat the car on itself (rims were stolen) on the yard, and it screwed up the whole underside of the car, which is what caused it to be totalled out.

Anyways, so I took the check they gave me, added a little money of my own, and found myself a 323ci.

Now I know what you are going to say, I bought the weakest of the E46's, I know. I wanted a car that was more fuel efficient, and that would get me into less trouble, and this car fit the bill. Also, I needed a car fast, and I didn't want to have a car payment, so I had my budget set (it's hard paying a mortgage by yourself1), and this car fit it just right.

And yes, the subframe has already been repaired by the previous owner, and yes, the sunroof shade fell off the track when I went to test drive it...and so it begins...haha!

My Ride: 2003 BMW 325Ci
Gernard: Welcome, from one forum noob to the next.

I made my decision in a similar way when I picked out my 325. I needed a car fast, I only had one other to choose from and it was a 330. Some may say I am dumb for picking the 325, but the idea of commuting to grad school and paying all that extra money for gas as a full time student did not make sense.

Got any pics of your new ride?
