Need help!!!

Hey guys, I was recently in a minor front end collision in my 2004 M3 which caused damage to my passenger side headlight housing. The light still functions perfectly (bixenon, autoleveling) however the housing is in pretty rough shape. Is it possible for me to just swap out all the internals into any prefacelift headlight housing or do I have to buy a new headlight? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Just recently had the exact same issue....... I ended up just ordering a cheap set of new head lights off of ebay and just using the main black housing plus the new clear plastic cover from the kit and swapped in all the OEM stuff that still worked from the old light.

900-1000 bucks for "ONE" head light from the dealer or 500-600 bucks for "TWO" brand new headlights from ebay...........

Thanks for the reply. Do tehy have to be bixenon headlights or can tehy be regular xenon since im only using the housing? Are housings for a bixenon, autoleveling headlight the same as the other prefacelift headlight housings or are there some differences?
thanks,
Lam

I would suggest to get a new dealer light b/c Ebay = u never know! and cracking a case on a headlight and resealing it = moisture! Better safe then sorry I think!

I am not sure about the bixeon compaired to the xeon as I only have the xeon's but I did have to specify to the seller that I wanted xeon head lights with out the ballasts and starters as I already had those....I did have to modify the casing a little bit to get the auto leveling and ballast to fit in correctally but not too much......

And yes you could go and get one head light from the dealer for 2x the price but then you risk the old drivers side headlight not matching the new one.......
