Quick LCM Panel Question

I've been wondering (and searched for) what this little clear dot thing on the LCM is. It looks like a little LED, but what is it for?

Hi, the little dot in the switch is actually a photo sensitive diode, when the lights are switched on and you cover this dot you will see your radio panel lights and display dim.
There is one fitted to the front of the radio/sat nav screen.
If your car has the auto dim dip interior mirror you will notice that it also is fitted with two of these sensors one at the front facing the windscreen and a second facing the rear screen.
the front measures how much light there is outside and the second measures light entering the car from behind (car with headlights on behind you) it then dips the mirror in relation to the input it receives
