Passenger-side mirror question!

The p-mirror is supposed to tilt DOWN when you put the car in reverse right? (supposedly to see the curb better???) Mine is tilting UP as in the mirror will try to face more toward the sky than the street. Damn. The worst thing is that it stays that way when I change gear and drive forward thus completely screwing the mirror setting. I have to disable this feature by sliding the control slider over to the right (passenger-side control) per discussion from some previous threads.
Anybody has the same symptom? My mirror is Hamann/Hargus style.

I have the very same problem with you.

Yes, after you swaping the motor, it will tilt up instead of down, and it also moves in reverse directions. It's all because the OEM motor is too big for Hagus' housing so that it doesn't sit right (upside down).

At least I still get the memory function works fine.

You should get M3 mirrors if yours is 2-door.

well, if it's common then I guess I can live with it. I think I love the Hamann mirror style. They look pretty aggressive. DropTopBM, if you like the style then go for it. Who really cares about the little tilting problem. I don't even look at it when I back up. I just have to vent when people claim features in other post and I could not verify it with my car (Once in a while, it would come in handy, I guess when you parallel park and don't want your precious pg3 rims hitting the side walk. Other than that, all is cool)
