My Ride: 2003 325Ci, last one
An economical and feasable solution to the HK system...??

I have a 2003 325Ci with the HK system, which of course is horrible. I have an 8" Infinity Reference sub-woofer and a Coustic 270 Watt amp from a previous vehicle. Street Effectz in Rahway NJ, says they can cut a hole in the rear deck, drop my sub in, and power it with my amp. They say there are better alternatives, but those alternatives would cost significantly more and take up trunk space, and that if I want to at least get some clean bottom out of the system without doing anything radical, this is not a bad way to go.

Has anybody else done this?

You might want to look into JL Audio Stealboxes which will accommodate 8" subs. They drop right into where your woofers are located on your rear deck.
