i definitely think so, especially on the first date... first impressions are the most important... clearly we are all uptight about our cars, and rightfully so... but it can definitely be a turnoff for a girl..

i think the best thing to do is just mention it if she does it once, not a big deal, just like sarcastically... "easy on the doors sweetheart"...

the next time tho, drop her off at a bus stop

worrying about getting ass that much would probably hurt your chances more than any assertion you make about door closing technique.

Don't preempt it, if she does something to your car that you don't tolerate, tell her the rules and be a man about it.

On the other hand, the doors are pretty heavy, not everybody has the carnival-game-like precision to fully shut it without pushing too hard.

scientific fact - women slam car doors no matter what. the also are magnetically drawn to smudging the glass.

Be a gentleman and open and close the door for her. Problem solved.

yea a dropped off a girl i was seeing once and she closed teh door by teh glass and scratched my tints with her diamond rind....wtf

tell them there is a problem with the door and they have to shut it easy

I could care less. It is a car. I put my dog in it, womens, whatever else.

I just keep it clean constantly, and it still looks new.

any take out food goes in a bin thats in the trunk to keep the smell/potential leaks in that area

As for the doors...just tell em nicely...I tell people right away about the glass thing. The comment about the doors being heavy and the girls must be huge if they can slam em is classic. So true.....I stay under the 120lbs limit...110-115 is even better....hahaha

OK, I'm Married, 49, my wife isn't a car person. I bought her a new car a year ago. I offered her a 3 series with an "AUTO" equipped to her choice. She declined. She ended up with a 2007 Civic EX with Nav and Sirius. Getting her to go to that from the LX was a chore. I have instilled the importance of good maintenance into her mind. AT least one good point.

I got into her car and noticed a red spot on the driver's side carpet. I said "did you cut yourself"? "No", she answered, "I dropped my lipstick"

I cleaned up the spot.

The next time she got into My car, she pulled down the visor and started to put on her lipstick. I said "OK, Pocahontas, enough with the war paint". It didn't go over well.

I've started to use the "AIS" Procedure. I ask her when she will be ready to go. SHe gives me a tie and I say "AIS" and the time. AIS = A$$ IN Seat.


I have left her.
