no. i would start with something smaller if this is your first bike. my suggestion would be to take the MSF course and decide if getting a bike is really what you want to do. then look at something like a used kawi 250. they hold their value and after a little while on it, you could sell it and move up to a 600.

I started on a 600.
I'm good. I know several did.
Its all about how well you have your head screwed on man.
Bikes don't hurt people, the riders throttle hand does.

for all the guys posting what were ur first starter bikes

600rr was my 1st bike.
Rode a handfull of times before, did the msf, then bought a bike a year later. Put about 11k miles on it in 1 year. Wrecked, got a 1000rr, because the deal was too good to pass, already put 15k miles on it in 1 year.

Getting tired of the streets, contemplating making it 100% track, and giving up street riding, but, I gotta admit, moving thru traffic at rush hour is priceless.

Very true. I also started on a 600, but without knowing the person I tend to suggest the 250.
