confused: BMWPILA, Soundgate, Blitzsafe
Yes, I did search, but I'm going into information overload...
I have a new 2003 325ci. I'd like to plug in an MP3 or MD player, so I need an AUX input. Eventually, I may want to plug in something like a PhatBox (waaaaayyyy too expensive in $CAN for now) or a CD/MP3 changer, although I can't say that I would want to use that much space in the trunk (when you have to replace the left trunk liner)... What's my best option? I've read about BMWPILA, Soundgate, Blitzsafe... which one should I get, and where (best price...) Thanks all! |

You can run the Alpine CHA-S634 MP3/CD changer.
Parts needed: a. Alpine CHA-S634 CD Changer (estimated: $250 US) b. SoundGate or Blitzsafe adapter (estimate: $99 US) c. Alpine KCA130B adapter (estimate: $20 US) You may be able to find cheaper prices on the net. Those are just estimates. Go to this page and look for the images that WolfGang posted (you may have to scroll down a bit).

Yes, you want the Blitzsafe. Note there's two kinds -- one allows you to connect ONLY an aux input, but no changer, while the other allows you to connect BOTH an aux input and a changer.
Peripheral makes their "Docking Station" product, but it's way too expensive, unless you think you're going to need to connect more than ONE aux device, as it allows multiple aux inputs.
