I'll always remember him from Thomas the Tank Engine.

liked this:

Quote:
Carlin grew up Roman Catholic in Washington Heights and from early on seemed to delight in mocking religion -- even going so far as to invent his own religion -- Frisbeetarianism -- for a newspaper contest, which he defined as the belief that when a person dies "his soul gets flung onto a roof, and just stays there", and cannot be retrieved.

Are you kidding me? He has got to be considered one of the top 10 comedians of all time, he certainly has one of the longest tenures of the lot of them.

Mr. Conductor is gone........I can't believe it.

I wished I could have seen him in person. I have one of his comedy specials recorded. I'll never delete that now.

RIP George Carlin!

If you got Tivo's or DVR they are showing like 4 George Carlin stand up specials on HBO2 right now. I'm recording them.

Being a Brit he was less well know over here, but I've had a look through some of his back catalogue on Youtube - damn, that man had brains to go with that grumpy humour!!
