Installing Silver Visions

Hey all,

I just went out to try to install my Silver Vision indicator bulbs in my front indicators, but must be doing something wrong I'm following the instruction from bmw330ci.com.

http://www.bmw330ci.com/DIY_Clears.htm

When it says "First let's look at the clear lens to see what we need to do. There's a curved "tab" at the end of the "locking clip" that you will need to press down on thru the access hole (bottom picture) in order to compress the metal "spring clip" and get the "locking ledge" down under the opening in the car so the lens can be released and removed." what does he mean

I tried to put a good amount of force with the screwdriver on the tab, it does give way a little, but no way I can slide the indicator out. The plastic tab is now chipped from me applying so much force. Anyone have better pictures or knows what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks.

That install did not work on mine. If you look at the opening (from the top) you will see a Philips head screw surrounded by a grey, round plastic knob. Unscrew it and the light assembly just slides right out.

I just checked. Don't see a philips head screw, so I guess that DIY write does apply to my setup (2001 Ci, European).

Oh well, than no Silver Visions it is.

I'll try to take a picture with my DV camera (it's the closest thing to a digital camera I have  ). I'll have to post it 2morrow bcoz it's pretty dark outside here (2300 in the evening).

Yours definitely looks different than mine (although we do have different cars). I don't think I can help.

Do you have any more pics, farther out so I can see the light housing and how it inserts into the frame.

Anybody else out there know how to help JetPilot out?

Looks way different than my MY2000 328Ci.. Did you check out your manual? It should tell you how to replace the lights.

Use this link. It does take some force, but be careful.
