If you're looking for a high end custome built AR- ad-tek.net makes some very VERY nice ones. They use quality parts including a bolt rated for full auto applications. Check them out.

they are a full retail store and sell factory rifles, but if you want something nice then they do custom builds.

Here in Texas if you pay the 'taxes' for it you can own a fully automatic, silenced gun.

Thats one way of looking at it... My way is that I'm putting a lot of money into the AR and so I want it done by a professional with a lifetime warranty. I can learn how to disassemble and reassemble it all I want when I go to basic/OTS. Building is a bit harder than assembling. Plus I get a military discount when I buy mine ;-)

ah man. you guys got me real tempted to do a build. I have always loved the looks/feel of the AR/M4. I know all the major brands and whatnot and would like to possibly do an extended build (buy good quality parts over a longer span to draw out the cost). Obviously lower receiver is a good place to start but does anyone know of any decent gun shops that offer AR parts in Orange County, CA? I think I have an idea of one but I'm not sure what their selection would be. I guess I'll just stop by.
Yet another thing e46fanatics is going to make me blow my money on ![]()

![]() They're using Mega lowers and uppers until their own are produced. These guys and Scott- the builder know more about ARs than most will ever want to know... starting with the obligatory military service using them in in "real" world conditions lol

eeeehhh.....
So I've probally meet 10,000 AR15 experts...and surprisingly the ones that know the least are service men....I have NO idea why? I've met guys fresh from Iraq and don't even know the caliper. But in the pic above, if they knew so much they might want to start with back up iron sights and not using china made airsoft optics. ![]() And Mega's are pretty low on the quality pole....I've owned probally 10 Mega's. 9 of which sucked. I kept the good one (wife's Pink AR).
