Expansion Tank Installation Problem

Anyone have suggestions on how to get the new expansion tank seated on the bracket underneath it? I got the tank off with minimal trouble but I can't seem to get the replacement one pushed all the way down on the bracket underneath. I have been pushing on it as hard as I can but I'm afraid if I try much more I am going to break something underneath the tank. Whats the best thing to do to get this new tank to go on? Push from top or pull from bottom? Use any type of lubricant on the seal to make it go on? Any suggestions is much appreciated!

I had to push down from above pretty hard. I think I coated the bigger o-ring fitting underneath with coolant to help lube it.

good luck

Are you taking the "post" on the tank-bracket into account? The "post" points toward the front of the car. The post snaps into the radiator mount, and I'm guessing it is hanging you up if you are pushing straight down from the top.
