Question Navigation not working in the hot weather.

So in the last few days it has been really hot here in NY. I mean 96+ farenheit hot. Today it hit the high 80's
BTW I own an 05' 330CI
So since this spell for some reason the navigation system would not read the DVD. So I had to look and found the DVD was a copy. Boy was I pissed. The dealer i bought it from said to come by and they would give me an original updated copy. I wont get there for a week or so.

So I had an idea to use a PC fan and tap it into the power that powers the DVD to keep it cool. Will that help? Anyone else have this problem? The car is under factory warranty.

I had a thought of just making a the PC fan blow onto the player when the car is on. i notice it powers up as soon as the key is placed in the ignition and remains on for 30 seconds after it is removed.

I could go trick with the LED fans and cut an acces hole for the cooler air to enter from the trunk but I'll have to see about that.

In case I did not mention it. i have a slot above the DVD player where I could also add this fan to swirl some cooler air. If I got the factory DVD would i have this issue?>
