Central Lock / Hazard Lights no longer working

The module that controls the central locking and the hazard lights isn't working, albeit the buttons do light up when I turn on the headlights.

I wanted to know if there are any areas I should check (fuse, known loose wires, etc) before buying a new module.

Check the connectors connecting to the switch. To get through there you need to remove your trim around your shift knob. And then another two screens that holds the plastic holder with switches I believe...

What happens over time due to usage the bottom peice that connects the buttons together is that it breaks. Therefore, the unti/switch needs to be replaced. I had to do this on a few cars... atleast 3 so it's a common wear and tear problem.

happened wit my car. all that happened was the bottom piece of the switch breaks so there is no resistance in the spring for the button to press. If you dont feel a "click" when u press the button like before then this is the issue. You can fix the current switch wit a little bit of super glue, but be careful not to put too much in....i kno from experience....some ended up leaking into the button n it wouldnt press Had to open it up and do it all over again w/o breaking it, but it works fine now. theres a diy for it somewhere if you search.
