But i could not get back to the standard halogens as i had LED tail lights and license plate lights. I continued seraching and find bulbs at autolumination.com, white leds, rated as "the best backup bulbs ever" .... And they were !! The reverse lights now look as if they had xenons in them, very wide angle, and they light far behind the car. Last week i was parking my car and the girl in the car behind me came to tell "You're blinding me with your reverse lights, what the hell are those ?"
i'm very happy with them, look very nice and no compromise on night vision !!
did you buy the exact same brand/link I posted from when you had 24LED 1156's? They are so cheap I want to try them first.

No, mine were 24 led bulbs, tehj old ones. Like the ones in the links you posted, they had forward facing and a few side facing leds, but no SMT and no high powered leds. Be careful/aware of the dimensions also, the 63led bulb you posted seem to be too big/long to fit in the reverse light housing, but i may be wrong.

I have the EE LED tails clears/red with the m3 style trunk lid lights. Do the smoked lenses affect brightness ?

Thank you addict!
I can't believe how every time I am on here I find an answer to something I want. I bought nick's backup bulbs (led) and the led interior kit. The interiors are amazing although some are different from my very early 323 that does not even have footwell lights or reading lights.
However the back ups are a great color and effect but barely as brightas stock. But this car is so tinted I can't see squat in the pass rear view at night backing up, so this new brightest ever bulb sounds perfect, thanks.

Are you guys talking about this? LEDs are bright, but are these brighter than stock as far as distance wise? and what's the difference between single and dual circuits?

A 5 Watt LED is powerfull - I had a 3 Watt LED spotlight that could light up a 2 foot diameter spot clearly at 40 yards - however it wasn't any good as flood light.

I don't know how many lumens (the measure of brightness) these produce vs stock bulbs, but it would be interesting to see photos of a comparsion of LED vs stock.

The dual circuits I think are for tail lights/brake light combos that come on when you turn your lights on (running lights) and then light up brighter when you apply the brake. I've got a e46 330 ZHP sedan, and I think it has separate running lights and brake lights, so the dual circuits aren't required.

Cheers

Yes please, can someone post picture of this LED Eagle Eye 5 vs. Stock. Maybe back it up against a garage door at night and take some pictures. Then drive the car forward until one overpowers the other and take another picture. That should tell us which one is stronger.

Thanks,

I know they are quite expensive, put they are worth the $$$, and i thought my ride deserves them

You just have to keep in mind that the reverse lights are meant to emit a wide and strong field of light, that's why the standard halogens are in reflectors/housings, so you have to choose a LED bulb that emits light like the halogen one does

Cheers
I am thinking of changing mu reverse lights and interior lights. Not trying to change subject here but do you have the link for the interior lights that you used with pics. How much heat do they let off? have you had any issues with any housing melting?

Thanks

I used the autolumination (www.autolumination.com) interior LEDs. 4led 194s and 9led festoons (39 and 44mm).

Issues = 0
Housing melting = 0
Wiring Melting = 0
Need To Keep the front dome light stock to prevent LCM from turning off interior lights = NO
Heat = Less than stock

This is my setup :
2 x Sunvisor Courtesy Lights (9Led Festoon 44mm White)
1 x Glovebox Light (9Led Festoon 39mm White)
2 x Footwell Lights (9Led Festoon 44mm Amber)
1 x Front Center Dome Light (4Led 194 Amber)
2 x Front Map Lights (4Led 194 White)
2 x Rear Dome Lights (4Led 194 Amber)
2 x Rear Map Lights (4Led 194 White)
2 x Trunk Interior Lights (4Led 194 White) -> 194s if you have EE LED Taillights, 44mm festoons if you have stock taillights.

I took some pics with side to side comparo between the LEDs and the stocks (Bimmian Xenon Interior Lights), i'll post them as soon as possible

^ that depends on the car. newer model bmws seem to take the LEDs easier than earlier models.

E46addicted,

Are you sure the Courtesy light is 44mm? Osram states it as 6418 which is 39mm. I take it, it will still fit just fine?
