Beers of Note
As the summer haze gets heavier and the cookouts more frequent there is the ever popular way of cooling off that nobody ever gets tired of partaking in. Yep, I'm talking beer. I'd prefer to go skinny dipping with the girls from Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. That would be VERY refreshing... but that will most likely never happen and thus, beer is much easier to obtain.
One I highly recommend is Hop Hazard Pale Ale by River Horse. This beer has a very bold flavor and is not for the wattery-beer fans. Sadly, this beer is hard to find. I wish you happy hunting. If you can't find that but you like a hoppy ale then look for for the 60 Minute IPA from Dogfish Head. Another bold beer with flavor to spare. The taste starts strong and ends bitter yet mellow. Great stuff and well worth the $10 / 6-pack. If you have trouble finding either of those then I'm sure you can track down a case of Pale Ale from the brew masters at Sierra Nevada. Not quite as much bite as the first two I listed but still, a very refreshing beverage. Keep cool! Cheers!

I love the 90 Min too but the 60 is more common at most liquor stores. the 90 has 50% more alcohol than the 60 too...
This only comes in 4-packs.

It's an expensive habit. What kind of beer do you like to drink?

Depends on what you're into.
My recent picks: Abita Turbodog (Ale) Young's Double Chocolate (Stout) Terrapin All-American Imperial (Pilsner)

If you like unfiltered Trippels, try Le Fin du Monde by Unibroue.
Dark I like Left Hand Brewery Imperial Stout. I tried a new IPA by Maharaja, pretty damn good too. EDIT: Also Dogfish head 120 min IPA, 10 bucks for a 12 oz bottle, 20% ABV |

I definitely prefer the 90 minute over the 60 minute. The 60 is a bit malty for my taste when it comes to IPA's (though the 90 is actually considered a double IPA).
If you're a hop-head like myself, some other good beers for the summer are: Bell's Two-Hearted Ale Loose Cannon IPA Stone IPA and Ruination (IIPA) Avery Maharaja (IIPA) And if only Troegs brewed Nugget Nectar year-round.... ![]() Anyone in the Mid-Atlantic/Tri-State area planning on going to the State College Brew Expo 2008? 60 brewers and over 150 different craft/micro brews. I've had a great time there the past couple of years. |

I've been tempted to try a Left Hand for some time. I see them but usually go for the ones I listed above. I'll pick up a 6 of Left Hand Stout tonight on your recommendation.

Oh it's good, I've only seen it in the big bottle, 1 pint 6 oz just in case you can't find it.

For those that love Pale Ale or Blue Moon you have got to try Bell's Oberon.

This should be a thread about beers over 8%, anything under that is a waste of my time.
